4 Days to TED

February 23, 2008

1119819627_db01dc9986_m But who’s counting? I’m excited about going to TED for the first time this year. Yes, I’ll be at the satellite site in Aspen but I don’t care. I was poking around the Internet today to see if there were any other pre-TED stories. I found one on TechCrunch stating that Microsoft will unveil WorldWide Telescope on February 27th at TED. WW Telescope is an application similar to Google Sky, a component to Google Earth, but rumored to be much better. The application will let the user explore the night sky from their PC. Here’s a link to a PDF doc that describes the project a bit more, and another blog posting. For someone like me who has had an interest in astronomy, but not the desire to stay up late in the summer, or endure the cold during the Northeast’s winter, it will fun to check this product out. I’m looking forward this announcement and all the exciting talks at TED.
